Yorkshire furniture designer and manufacturer Dovetailors will have its work for a Yorkshire cathedral featured in a TV documentary next week.
Dovetailors was commissioned to make a new altar and ambo for Wakefield Cathedral as part of its major Project 2013 renovation.
The project, and the collaboration with Dovetailors, will feature in the BBC4 documentary Cathedrals to be aired on BBC4 on Tuesday November 12 at 9pm.
Presenter Richard Alwyn will explore the purpose and daily workings of Wakefield Cathedral with the help of the driving force behind Project 2013, the Very Reverend Jonathan Greener.
“The dean’s passionate mission to modernise the cathedral in an effort to secure its future is something that we were fortunate enough to have witnessed first hand,” said David Wilson of Dovetailors.
“We also experienced the glare of the TV cameras as we worked closely with the project team to realize their vision.
“We felt extremely privileged to have been chosen to design and built the new altar and ambo for the cathedral and we are very much looking forward to seeing the finished documentary.”
Cathedrals will be shown on BBC4 at 9pm on Tuesday November 12.
